Charity shop haul #1

The first of our charity shop haul features, as a avid charity shop hunter and finder of vintage gems I love a good rummage in a charity shop. I know many people believe charity shops are a no go zone, clothes of dead people etc etc so I want to change all you minds on this and share the treats I find and love of the hunt for latest wardrobe gem.

Due to growing up on a budget and in a rural area where there where not many shops charity shops become the norm for the Magpie girls but I soon learned you can find some brilliant unique gems and create a striking style. I have found so many vintage treats at bargain prices, designer gems (vivienne westwood coat!) and supported some wonderful charities at the same time. So I hope I can inspire you to shop in the charity shops and find some treats to.

Vintage find - Dali Brooches

As you all will soon discover Ms Magpie loves a vintage find and at a little trip to a local flea market this weekend I discovered 2 beautiful brooches to add to my collection.
These little Salvador Dali brooches where a real treat to find buried among the broken jewels of a flea market jewellery box, I have always loved Dali's art work and in particular his jewellery designs so I was delighted to discover these 2 reproduction brooches.

Hello Magpies

Welcome to a magpies tale, my adventures in the jewellery, style, fashion and design world. This being our first post I thought we would start with a little introduction to the blog and myself Ms Magpie.

A jewellery magpie by day and trade I wanted to explore the world of style and fashion a little more and show the world all of the beautiful fashion finds and designer/makers I find along the way.

Style
I’ll be blogging about my personal style in which I love to play with colour, pattens and vintage, not necessarily a follower of fashion trends but loving it anyway. Being colourful and enjoying my style just makes me happy, black and dull clothes make me sad and not feel at all like Ms Magpie, I have fun and most of all be myself. I love to mix my charity & vintage finds with high street, i'll show you all my best charity shop finds and how I style them with high street pieces. Hopefully converting a few of you along the way to the art of a good charity shop rummage, discovering the delights of those brilliant fashion bargains and creating your style.

I might even throw in a bit of street style to as I meet so many style stars on my way though the world, from designers, stylists to fabulous dressers I'll to share there inspirational style.

Wonderful designers
I meet lots of fantastical talented designers and makers in my day job and life so I’ll share those with all of you to. From jewellers, bag designers, hat designers, accessory designers and much more. Britain is bursting at the seams with creators and makers of the most beautiful things, each item made with skill, love and care by a real person with there own unique story that needs to be shared and I know you'll love.
